Airport 101 – Update, Status and Future Events
Come and hear the status of the John Wayne Airport, its history and what the future may hold.
The Federal Aviation Administration is proposing modifications to flight patterns at John Wayne Airport, which is generating interest in the Newport Beach community. The FAA recently prepared an Environmental Assessment, which has prompted litigation from the City of Newport Beach and the County of Orange.
Thomas Edwards, consultant to the City of Newport Beach for airport policy implementation, will
present an update of events occurring at the airport and explain such terms as ADD, MAP, PIGGN,
STREL, FINNZ, GANO, Settlement Agreement and Metroplex. Questions and answers will follow the
presentation.
